Rope-Making Workshop, 12–1pm, Sun 23 Oct

Children and adults alike gathered at the Village of Resourcefulness on the corner of Montreal and Gloucester streets to make rope from te kōuka cabbage tree leaves. This was a wonderful opportunity for the community to connect with the resources available to us through craft. The rope was then tested with a tug-of-war!

The Village of Resourcefulness consisted of temporary structures designed and fabricated by Ara students from hazel wood, which housed craftspeople undertaking high quality crafts that are zero waste in nature.

This project was presented by Juliet Arnott of Rekindle.
