Nature Play Park

Department of Conservation, Sarah Mankelow and Phillipa Gardner

Kids came down to the Nature Play Space at 203 Hereford Street on Saturday 26 October to meet the bugs! They joined the DOC rangers for free play in nature and hunted for critters, met some live weta and bugs, had a go at the arts and crafts table and entered the ‘design a bug’ competition. With prizes, fun and face painting, this was a great family day out of exploration at Nature Play!

Come, hunt for critters; creep, leap and crawl.

Get down on the ground; tumble and roll.

Lie like a beetle, bask in the sun.

Swish through the grass, be a bug on the run.

Float like a butterfly. Buzz like a bee.

Hide and seek, sit under a tree.

Scavenge for treasure, look for surprises.

Get clever; design-a-bug and win prizes.

Splash, jump, river rock hop.

Fish about, belly flop.

Paddle, puddle, play all day.

Explore with us at Nature Play!

Nature Play Space is a joint project between the Department of Conservation and Greening the Rubble. The site for this project was brokered by Life in Vacant Spaces
