Josie Archer & Kosta Bogoievski

Josie and Kosta’s project for FEASTA!: Pedestrian Guiiiiiiiiiiidance!

In this roaming dance performance, Josie and Kosta wear utility vests equipped with recessed retractable barrier belts that can extend beyond their bodies to walls and each other, thus creating temporary barriers to re-orientate the FEASTA attendees and guide them to engage in site and performer-audience relationships in new ways. In effect they are choreographing foot traffic. The performers traverse Mollett Street, becoming ‘busy’ caricature technicians with other gadgets such as torches, headset mics, and portable speakers creating an abstracted sense of festival engagement for the audience. Creating a spectacle: performance, dance, and interruption.
