Avon River, between Hereford St & Worcester Blvd

Launch: Friday 24 October, 5pm

Water calligraphy workshops: Saturday 25 October & Sunday 26 October, 4-5pm

Poetica project #5, ‘Emerge’ was a calligraphic, three-dimensional line of poetry by Irish poet William Yeats floating in the Avon, by the historic mill wheel.

During FESTA, readings and artist-led liquid poetry workshops accompanied the installation. People of all ages had a go at writing their own liquid poetic messages – brushes and water were provided. As the text soon vanishes through evaporation, many made their work permanent through a picture.

Have a look at a selection of them on the Poetica Facebook site.
