Basket-weaving workshop, 12–2pm, Sat 22 Oct

This workshop gave people the opportunity to weave a basket from te kōuka cabbage tree leaves at the Village of Resourcefulness. Participants brought refillable bottles and jars along to weave the soaked leaves around and experienced how we can connect with the resources available to us through craft.
The Village of Resourcefulness occupied the corner of Montreal and Gloucester streets and consisted of temporary structures designed and fabricated by Ara students. These housed craftspeople undertaking high quality crafts that are zero waste in nature.
This project was presented by Juliet Arnott of Rekindle.
