Barnaby Bennett is a designer, publisher and teacher. He is currently completing a PhD at UTS, Sydney examining the political characteristics of temporary projects in post-quake Christchurch. He has a history of involvement with festivals and event organisation including management, creative and arts direction roles on the Wellington International Jazz Festival, Cuba Street Carnival, and Newtown Festival.
As a designer he has worked on small residential works, temporary installations and exhibitions, and large complex projects such as the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
Barnaby teaches theory and design across landscape architecture, architecture and design at universities in Australia and New Zealand and has been widely published in both academic and popular mediums. He is also a publisher and the co-founder of Freerange Press, which has published over 20 books on various themes around the city, design and politics.
