Presented by ArtBox, Beatbox in collaboration with We Built This City
Talks, food, music, art and cinema found a happy home in the Firth Courtyard on the Artbox site (corner of St Asaph and Madras St) as part of FESTA’s opening night, Urban Wanderings, on Friday 25 October.
Events kicked off with super treats available from Cakes By Anna, cocktails by Eaton Drink Co. and music by Jen Turner , Amber-Rose and Delaney Davidson. Sprinkled in amongst the entertainment were talks about ArtBox, Beatbox and Boxed Quarter by Martin Trusttum and F3 Design while Barnaby Bennett provided some challenging new ideas about the future of our city.
Two exhibitions were running all day: Bodytok by Phil Dadson in the ArtBox Lantern Gallery and Back Catalogue: Part One – an exhibition by Mark Soltero in the ArtBox L-Pavilion Gallery.
Once it got dark we fired up an outdoor screening of Julia Holden’s stunning animation ‘The Philosopher’, with Charcos and beer available from Gorilla Eatery. Some louder entertainment courtesy of The River Jones and The Transistors to kept the night humming.
